1.3.2 Filters to Reduce Noise and
Distortion, or to Enhance
- Minimum - replaces pixel with minimum value in sliding window (expands dark, reduces bright), blurs image
- Maximum - replaces pixel with maximum value in sliding window (expands bright, reduces dark), blurs image
- Try:

- Minimum followed by maximum, or
- Maximum followed by minimum, or
- Min, min followed by max, max, or
- Max, max followed by min, min, ...
- Note a 3x3 min followed by a 3x3 min is equivalent to a 5x5 min
