Buckyfullerenes | Manufacturers | Nanotubes | Nanowicks |
Also know as Buckyballs, C60, these are new molecules of pure carbon which can be found naturally in multiple forms (also C28, C70, C84, C240, C540).
Links 1 2 3Nanotubes, usually made from carbon atoms, have many uses.
Nanowicks are dense mats of nanoscale fibers, which can be grown in a tailorable pattern (e.g. a spiral). Possible uses: fluidics logic, electrically controlled wicking, mixing of liquids. Work done by Flavio Noca, Michael Bronikowski, Elijah Sansom, Jije Zhou, Morteza Gharib at JPL
